Artwork by Arrington de Dionyso, from his Tumblr.

It’s day two of Arrington de Dionyso’s epic live-drawing marathon, presented by Pop Montreal, Suoni per il Popolo and Shoot the Moon. Espace Pop (5587 du Parc), 10 a.m.–11 p.m., free

Spruce up your winter wardrobe at the second annual Rack It sale, where a collection of vintage sellers and local designers are hawking their goods at considerable discounts, including OldWIG vintage, Meemoza and Deborah Adams. Quartier Mode (4276 St-Laurent), 12–6 p.m., free entry

The PHI Centre is screening the top Canadian films from TIFF this week, for free! Tonight alone, you can see two equally strong, if diametrically opposite, examples of quality Canadian cinema: David Cronenberg’s highly talky, stylized Cosmopolis (5 p.m.) and FUBAR director Michael Dowse’s proudly lowbrow hockey comedy Goon (8 p.m.). 407 St-Pierre, free

Against Equality’s third pocket-sized book, Prisons Will Not Protect You, says hate crime legislation as it pertains to queer/trans violence is “a simple, one-size-fits-all, punitive solution to quite complex social problems.” (Read up on that in yesterday’s Q&A.) This, and other controversial statements, at tonight’s book launch. Concordia Co-op Bookstore (2150 Bishop), 7 p.m.

With backgrounds in jazz, classical, electroacoustic, no wave, punk, rock, “banjo/shred-prog” and “tuba doom/improv,” Charity Chan, Peter Evans, Weasel Walter and Tom Blancarte will make some interesting noise together. Casa del Popolo (4873 St-Laurent), 8:30 p.m., $13/$15
