Look Vibrant
Look Vibrant

Today the POP Montreal festival revealed the complete program for its 2014 edition (Sept. 17-21), including the second half of its music programming (see the first half, announced in June, here) and its Film, Art, Puces and Kids Pop events, as well as the Pop Symposiums.

Notable among today’s additions are a pile of quality local acts, among them the Canadian premiere of the new classical project by Arcade Fire’s Richard Reed Parry (to be played with Esmerine), a headlining show by le Révélateur (ex-Fly Pan Am & Pas Chic Chic’s Roger Tellier-Craig) with opener Kyle Bobby Dunn, two shows featuring Automelodi (one of them with Essaie Pas headlining, both of them promising synth-pop greatness) and appearances by yet more Cult MTL faves like Li’l Andy, Maica Mia, Crosss, Stars, Look Vibrant and Jimmy Hunt.

After a year off, the Pop vs. Jock charity basketball game is back, feat. Bon Iver, Nicolai from the Strokes and of course Arcade Fire’s Win Butler, whose name is now above the title because he’s always the star of the court (Pop side), whether he’s winning or having a tantrum. We don’t yet know what the musical component of this will be (two years ago, David Byrne played with members of Arcade Fire at half-time) but it’s always a good time.
