St-Hubert Plaza street fair 2014

The late-summer edition of Plaza St-Hubert’s sidewalk sale begins today and runs all weekend. Street artists such as MC Baldassari, Melsa Montagne and Mateo have been spending the week decorating the columns that line the plaza, so come have a look at their work. MTL en Arts will also be hosting a special art exhibition and sale throughout the four-day street fair. St-Hubert Plaza, from Bellechasse to Jean-Talon, 10 a.m.–9 p.m., free

Local designer Travis Taddeo hosts an open house end-of-season sale of up to 50 per cent off in his Old Port boutique, with Ryan Playground spinning tunes. 209 St-Paul W., #400, 12–7 p.m., free

Join the artists participating in this week’s Unceded Voices: Anticolonial Street Artists Convergence (the follow-up to last summer’s Decolonizing Street Art events) in conversation as they discuss their work and the process of making art as a means to resist oppression and build community. Articule (262 Fairmount W.), 6 p.m., free

At the Festival Mode & Design today, check out fashion shows for local labels Atelier Wonder, le Cahier, MEWS and lots more. Place des Festivals (Ste-Catherine & Balmoral), 6–9 p.m., free

The RIDM documentary festival and the CCA team up for a free outdoor screening of three landmark NFB short documentaries from the 1960s and ’70s about three Montreal neighbourhoods. The films, which range in length from 10 to 45 minutes, will be presented in their original French. 1920 Baile, 8:30 p.m., free

If you missed out on the inaugural Naive Melodie party at Salsathèque, luckily it’s a monthly and tonight is the second edition. Conceived by members of Arcade Fire, party promoter (and Cult MTL columnist) DL Jones and Herve K (Moonshine party host), the party promises music by DJs Windows 98, Poirier, Lexis and Ruined Sundays, in a venue like no other in the city. 1220 Peel, 9 p.m., $10 minimum donation (proceeds go to Kanpe)
