Among the films screening at the Rendez-vous du Cinéma Québécois today is Michael Rowe’s 2015 film Early Winter (Quartier Latin, 350 Emery, 6:15 p.m.) and a special screening of the excellent Continental (un film sans fusil) (2007), with director Stéphane Lafleur present (Cinemathèque Québécoise, 335 de Maisonneuve E., 7:30 p.m.). Tickets cost $11.75/$9.50 for students and seniors.

RIDM presents a one-off screening of award-winning 2015 refugee documentary Those Who Feel the Fire Burning at Cinéma du Parc. 3575 Parc, 8 p.m., $12.50/$11 for young adults (1425) & seniors

Singer-songwriter Rae Spoon (who now lives in Victoria after a spell in Montreal) follows up their 2013 album My Prairie Home with a new record called Armour. Check out the launch show tonight at Casa del Popolo, with opener Glenn Nuotino. 4873 St-Laurent, 8 p.m., $12/$15
