Happy 420

In honour of 4-20, le Ritz will be screening the 1998 Dave Chappelle flick Half Baked. Ordering pizza is allowed — encouraged, even — so make sure you show up with a good case of the munchies. 179 Jean-Talon W., 8 p.m., $1–$5 suggested

Head to Foufs for this month’s edition of Beaux Dégâts, with six teams of artists in a live painting showdown where the audience can vote for their favourite team with their empty beer cans, plus a special performance by Ottawa producer Talk$ins and MC Cruz. 87 Ste-Catherine E., 8 p.m., $5

Dollar Cinema is screening Stanley Kubrick’s stone-cold classic A Clockwork Orange, which is well worth seeing on the big screen. Watch a crazy one-minute trailer for the film here. 6900 Decarie Square, 8:30 p.m., $5

Tonight at Casa del Popolo, the Howl! Arts Festival presents a concert to launch a new EP by New York’s Ras Moshe and local Stefan Christoff, performing in duet and quartet with Sam Shalabi, Jonah Fortune and Martin Heslop. Also on the bill are Rêves Sonores and Ari Swan. 4873 St-Laurent, 8:30 p.m., $10

Experimental electro/rock band Suuns launch their new record Hold/Still at la Tulipe, with openers Lungbutter. See our interview with the band here. 4530 Papineau, 9 p.m., $17/$20

Described as “a multi-sensory world,” Le Cauchemar merveilleux adapts poems by French singer-songwriter Arthur H into a big-screen spectacle — very big screen, enough to project inside the Satosphere’s 360-degree dome — with sound composition by Léonore Mercier and Maxence Mercier’s visuals. The film screens at SAT through May 13. 1201 St-Laurent, 7 p.m., $20.50
