The 30th edition of Free Museum Day offers gratis access to (and transport between) 41 museums and galleries in the city, courtesy of the Montreal Museums Society. To make it even easier to get around, the special access day happens to coincide with the first monthly Free Bixi Sunday, where you can take advantage of the city-wide bike-sharing service absolutely free all day long!
As part of performance arts festival FTA, gender-bending artist 2Fik is taking over the Place des Festivals for a three-day long recreation of the classic French-Canadian story of the Chasse-Galerie (the Flying Canoe), in which the characters must make a pact with the devil to achieve their goals. 2Fik will be transforming the public esplanade into a giant photo studio to embody and capture many different characters including men, women, Catholics, Arabs, Muslims and atheists.
