Alternatives to a big night out

We all love a good night out partying, drinking and socializing. In Montreal, there are plenty of options for a great pub crawl with fun bars and packed dancefloors. But when you’re just not in the mood for crowds, noise and meat market antics, there are alternatives to a big night out. Here are some options to consider when you’re seeking relative simplicity:

1. Movie Night — There are so many different ways to enjoy a movie night that you can cater it to your mood. You can go to the cinema to watch a new release or repertory flick, invite a few close friends over for popcorn and a classic from the couch or, of course, (literally) Netflix and chill with your significant other.

2. Game Night — If you’re looking to socialize and have some more interactive fun, a video game or board game night could be the answer. This can get loud and competitive (and far from sober, haha), but being with your friends makes it much lower key than that a big night out.

3. Online Casino — You can play in a live casino environment without braving the crowds at Ile Notre-Dame. Hop online to the Canadian online casino InstaCasino and you could be playing your favourite table games or slot games (such as Immortal Romance) in no time. In the comfort of home, in your pyjamas and favourite chair, you can enjoy the fun and excitement of real casino play with zero travel.

4. Local Culture — There are events all the time around Montreal and you can enjoy some culture just about any day of the week. Meet up with some friends and enjoy a show, a concert or a sporting event and you can couple it with going out for a bite to eat at one of the many fantastic restaurants around. Go to Cult MTL every morning for the daily curated To-Do List. ■
