Concordia’s Caribbean Student Union presents a Black History Month screening of the award-winning 2015 documentary Ninth Floor, in which director Mina Shum shines a light on the 1969 student occupation of Concordia’s (then known as Sir George Williams University) ninth floor computer room in protest of racist treatment from school officials, which became a watershed moment for Canadian race relations. Head to the Museum of Fine Arts’ new Michal and Renata Hornstein Pavilion for Peace for a special Valentine’s edition of Chiaroscuro, an evening dedicated to art and music with access to the museum’s international collections, music by KROY and DJs Baya and J.u.D., dance performances by Moment Lunaire plus arts workshops and special cocktail and snack menus. 1380 Sherbrooke W., 7 p.m.–12 a.m., $12 or free for Avant-Garde VIP members

The art enthusiasts behind pop-up exhibition organizers Centerfold Gallery launch a brand-new permanent gallery space in Westmount with a vernissage this evening for Arrival Measures, a solo show of works by landscape artist Zoë Pawlak, complete with sushi and bar service plus a DJ set from Gene Tellem. 376 Victoria, #110, 8 p.m., free

Montreal’s longest-running (but mostly defunct since 2015) queer dance party, Faggity-Ass Friday, is back for one night only in a special Iconic Love throwback edition at Bar Le Ritz PDB in support of Head & Hands with a special pre-V-day all-BIPOC DJ lineup including Chukwubuikem Nnebe (host of CJLO’s Aloof Future show), n10.as Radio’s Apportez Votre Vin and Latin lover Pituca Putica. 179 Jean-Talon W., 11 p.m., $5 before midnight, $10/PWYC after
