Kick off Black History Month at Mile End’s Galerie Ame Art, where Concordia’s C-FAR (Feminist Action and Research) project hosts a vernissage for the group exhibition Symbols of Resistance, in which Black identity and representation is explored through a wide variety of styles and mediums by eight local artists including Kay Nau (The Creative Kay), Glowzi, Sika Valmé, Valérie  Bah and more. 5345 du Parc, 6–9 p.m., free
