The Horrors

Two turntables and an orchestra? Why not? Montreal’s DJ Brace and four up-and-coming local composers work together to create a very special musical mash-up at SAT. 1201 St-Laurent, 6 p.m., $10

Cinéma Parc and the NFB have teamed up to present a special screening of filmmaker Luc Bourdon’s collage-like archival film La Part du Diable, which explores the quiet revolution in 1970’s Quebec. 3575 Parc, 6:30 p.m., $13.50

Jeff Buckley fans can check out a lecture/Q&A at l’Astral with the late American singer-songwriter’s former manager, author of the recently published book From Hallelujah to the Last Goodbye. 305 Ste-Catherine W., 7 p.m., $27/$32

In l’Astral’s main room, British rock band the Horrors — who released their critically acclaimed new album V last fall — will be playing with openers Venus Furs. 305 Ste-Catherine W., 8 p.m., $23/$28

FliQ is a monthly submission-based Queer Film series held at NDQ to promote and support local filmmakers. This edition features a program of short films inspired by the theme Dreams. 32 Beaubien E., 8 p.m., free
